Milostný trojúhelník je obvyklé téma společné seriálům i filmům. Ale tentokrát se stal volbou režiséra Jia Zhangke (Ťia Čang-kche) v jeho novém filmu, který začíná milostným trojúhelníkem v roce 1999.

Film I hory mohou odejít (Mountains May Depart) značí návrat režiséra Jia na velká plátna po jeho posledním celovečerním filmu s názvem Zátiší (Still Life) téměř před deseti lety.

Film vypráví příběh života členů jisté rodiny z Číny v Austrálii, o jejich láskách, nadějích a zklamáních přes dvě generace ve společnosti, která se mění závratnou rychlostí.

Ve filmu jsou tři časové úseky představující minulost, přítomnost a budoucnost.

Režisér Jia, který byl mezinárodně uznávaný po získání nejvyššího ocenění Zlatého leva na Benátském filmovém festivalu za film Zátiší, vysvětlil důvod, proč se rozhodl začít film z roku 1999.

„Rok 1999 je rokem, kdy nové technologie očividně začínaly ovlivňovat náš život a emoce. Vezměme si mě jako příklad: svůj první mobilní telefon jsem dostal kolem tohoto roku. Potom, když se internet začal šířit po Číně v roce 1999, jsem si otevřel svůj první e-mailový účet."

Film se odehrává převážně v režisérově rodném městě Fenyangu (Fen-jang) v severočínské provincii Shanxi (Šan-si). Začíná v roce 1999, pokračuje do roku 2014 a končí v blízké budoucnosti v roce 2025.

Tao (Tchao) je mladá dívka, která se narodila v malém městě Fenyang a zůstává ve středu příběhu. Má přítele z dětství, který se jmenuje Liangzi (Liang-c´) a pracuje v místním uhelném dolu a je do ní zjevně zamilovaný. Ale poté, co majitel tohoto uhelného dolu Zhang Jinsheng (Čang Ťin-šeng) začal dobývat Tao, se Tao rozhodla, že si ho vezme, protože Zhang je bohatý muž, který vlastní drahé nové auto a má spoustu peněz.

Herečka hlavní ženské role tohoto filmu Zhao Tao (Čao Tchao) je manželka režiséra Jia Zhangke, a také je jeho dlouhodobá hrdinka.

Nicméně podle názoru Zhao Tao bohatství není klíčem, který nakonec umožní Zhang Jinshengovi vyhrát nad oddanou věrností Liangziho.

„Ve skutečnosti nejdůležitější důvod pro úspěch Zhang Jinshenga je to, že se zajímá o nejvnitřnější pocity Tao. Z toho důvodu můj závěr je, že vysoké EQ je velmi důležité pro udržení romantického vztahu. Pokud jde o Liangziho, je to introvertní a tichý chlapec, který dobývá dívku pouze tím, že se jí vyznává ze svých citů."

Ve skutečnosti tento milostný příběh neskončil v okamžiku, kdy se Tao a Zhang Jinzheng vzali, ale dále se rozšiřuje i o jejich syna, Dollar Zhanga, který vyrůstá v Austrálii a neumí pořádně mluvit mandarínskou čínštinou.

Poněkud nepřesvědčivá láska kvete mezi Dollarem a rozvedenou vysokoškolskou profesorkou, kterou hraje hongkongská legendární filmová hvězda a spisovatelka Sylvia Chang.

I hory mohou odejít (Mountains May Depart) je film o lidských citech a jak je čas může změnit. Tento film realizuje dlouholeté přání režiséra Jia Zhangke o natočit romantický film."

„Nenatočil jsem film o lásce poměrně dlouhou dobu a v posledních dvou až třech letech jsem neustále chtěl natočit film na téma lásky. Tento film je o vzpomínání na minulé vztahy, nalezení nové lásky a prostřednictvím tohoto filmu si lze představit, jak bude vypadat láska v budoucnosti."

Film I hory mohou odejít byl vysílán v angličtině a byl kdysi promítán na 68. filmovém festivalu v Cannes a bude promítán v kinech na pevninské Číně od 30. října.

Anchor: Love triangle is usually a common topic in TV soap operas and films. But this time it became a choice for Director Jia Zhangke's new film that begins with a romantic triangle in 1999.

The film "Mountains May Depart" or Shan He Gu Ren (山河故人) in Chinese marks Jia's comeback to the big screen following his last feature film Still Life almost a decade ago.

Reporter: The movie tells a story of a family's life from China to Australia, their loves, hopes and disillusions over two generations in a society changing at breakneck speed.

There are three-time frames in the movie representing the past, present and future.

Director Jia, who has been recognized internationally for winning the Venice Film Festival's top Golden Lion award for Still Life, or San-Xia-Hao-Ren, explains the reason why he'd decided to unfold the film from the year of 1999.

"1999 is the year when the new technologies came out starting to influence our life and emotions. Take me as an example: I owned my first cell phone around that year. Then, as the Internet began to sweep around China in 1999, I opened my first E-mail account."

The film unfolds predominately in the director's own hometown of Fenyang in China's northern Shanxi province, beginning in 1999, continuing in 2014, and ending in the near-future year of 2025.

Tao, a young girl born in the small city of Fenyang, stays at the center of the story. She has a childhood friend Liangzi, who works at the local coal mine and has clearly been in love with her forever.

But after Zhang Jinsheng, the owner of the mine, makes his move to seek love from Tao, Tao has decided to marry Jinsheng, who is a rich man that owns a flashy new car and wads of money.

Lead actress of the film Zhao Tao is director Jia Zhangke's wife, and also his long-term heroine.

However in Zhao Tao's opinion, wealth is not the key that eventually enables Zhang Jinsheng to win over Liangzi's stalwart devotion.

"In fact, the most essential reason for Jinsheng's success in capturing Tao's heart is that he is concerned about Tao's innermost feelings. Hence, my conclusion is that high EQ is very important in maintaining a romantic relationship. As for Liangzi, he is an introverted and silent boy who chases a girl only by telling her his affections."

In fact, the love story didn't end at the point when Tao and Jinzheng get married, but continue to extend even on their son, Dollar Zhang, who grows up in Australia and has entirely forgotten how to speak Mandarin Chinese.

A somewhat unconvincing romance blossoms between Dollar and a divorced college professor, played by the legendary movie star and writer Sylvia Chang (张艾嘉).

"Mountains May Depart"is a movie about human affections and how time can change them. And it realizes director Jia's long-time wish to shoot a film in the romantic genre.

"I haven't shot a film revolving around love for quite a long time, and I have been dying to produce one around the subject of love in recent two to three years. This movie is about reminiscing bygone relationship, embracing new love, and imagining what it will be like in the future."

The English-speaking film, which was once screened at the 68th Cannes Film Festival, is scheduled to hit mainland cinemas on October 30.
